Raleigh-Cary is 5th best metro for middle-class families as reported by Triangle Business Journal

“The Raleigh-Cary metro is one of the best places for middle-class families, according to a new report by Chapman University’s Chapman Center for Demographics and Policy, reported here by Builder magazine.

The rankings are based on factors such as housing affordability, migration, income growth, commute times and middle-income jobs.

The cities producing the most new [housing] units … have managed to keep their housing costs, and rents, to levels acceptable to middle- and working-class families,” writes the author of the report, demographer Joel Klotkin.” as reported by TBJ.
